By the sounds of thing there suppose to drive like cammed up race engines and no even idle properly. Not at all - it's just like a VTec lump in operation, if not even smoother. There's a bigger gap between high-up and low-down power though. But that's Toyota's VVTi - they all have their ups and dow...

A little off topic i know, but how about the toyota VVTi system, anyone know much about this as i've read in a forum it is the probably the most superior system. Don't know the technicalities, but it's generally regarded as the best of the bunch. The trouble is, by definition, the big-power is even...

I would just leave what is on as standard if i were to upgrade i would put on whatever type the car came with as there is issued with the car stalling if you put a atmos dv on a re-circ system due to the ecu and air sensor. I do prefer re-circ though 4977 - it is the turbo its self that stalls and ...

Right, I sort of get it. The more air that's present on the filter-side of the Turbo (because of the higher-flowing filter making it easier for atmospheric pressure to push it in), then the higher it's pressure, so the quicker it flows into the Turbo to replace the air that it's just pushed into the...

Just a quick thought On a Turbo car, the air intake is dictated by the Turbo. If you're running at 10psi (or whatever), then how do you benefit by changing the air filter ? Don't you still get the same 10psi and hence the same airflow into the engine, giving the same performance ? On the same note, ...

Surely it's a good idea to have a more economical car for normal driving but have power available when you want it? Yep, and that's exactly what a Turbo gives. You choose whether to drive it on or off boost. even then though a turbo isn't as economical due to the low compression ratio. Yeah, and th...

More-power-per-litre was already available (reliably) with forced induction, and you get a (almost) full-range powerband to boot. But then you've got loads of power vertually all the time... what's the point when you're stuck in traffic? Er, surely that's exactly why more lower-down torque is bette...

I assume you have drove one and indeed understand how a high revving engien means you have very short gears? And also how the VTEC system is just 2 cams, ie super nice road torque one that swaps to a race cam? Ie. no compromises. Yep, yep, and yep. It's precisely the shorter gears, hence major gear...

If you are looking for over 200 horses anyway then you'd be better off starting with the Turbo. Agreed. There's no point spending loads of time, money, and effort on an NA lump. The same time, money, and effort on a blown lump will net you a much greater final result. there are a couple of 200Hp CR...

i found that with the 17's i have got, its made a difference to the car. It actually holds to the road a lot better possibly due to the width and weight... ...but only on a glass-smooth surface. On an average UK road, your road-holding ability has been significantly reduced, by both the extra weigh...

Why is mobil 1 too thin? Surely the 0 means that it doesnt change it viscosity when cold. I.E ideal for cold starts. Yes, but it also means it's just as thin when cold, as when hot. On anything other than a brand new engine, you can sometimes find that it slowly seeps through various seals and stuf...

I have heard a few people say that you should only use fully synthetic oils with turbo engines. Does this not apply with the T series then? By all means, use a fully synthetic if you don't mind paying the extra for it. But Mobil 1 0/40 is too thin. BTW - I am using GTX Magnatec 10W 40 at the moment...
