Old scam that one - post on a forum and get well known with loads of posts and a fancy car, offer to sell it, withdraw and get people hungry to buy it. Then you say you've had a crash and are breaking for parts. Sell the parts for cash via post (remember you're now a trusted regular member) and disa...

my clutch cable kept snapping on the MG metro.... just taught me well how to drive without using the clutch..... I now change gear as routine without using the silly third pedal :D Very easy in a Metro, I did exactly the same for ages. I think the clutch pedal on those cars is just for setting off ...

Volvo T4 engine! 1855cc 200 bhp 220 torque Quite a light engine, mechanically bullet proof (if only the ancilleries are too :x ) and almost identical to the legendary T5 engine but with a cylinder chopped off! What are the problems with the ancilleries? How common are they to buy? Just done a quick...

The other fashion at the moment is to have one headlight and/or one brakelight bulb blown. Olly Round here the fashion is no brake lights, just the centre one working. A few days ago I told a woman parking in my road she had no brakelights, she just laughed. When i said she wouldn't be laughing whe...

Always tell the truth in this situation, more to cover your own ar5e than anything else. Imagine if he'd owned up to the policewoman at the side of the road while in shock, or even if he completely admitted driving dangerously in his statement (unlikely i agree). Then you might have to defend your s...

Re: This bloke needs your help
Can anyone help. Suggest that the lad check out that link to his ebay sale Mach1rob posted, then check his profile. Looks like he buys and sells a few cars - might be worth a message to Ebay members who have visited his address to deliver/collect cars - they might be able to pass on his address? Or...

Toblerone, What lambda light comes on with Ultimate? Sounds like an engine issue rather than fuel. You're not putting Ultimate derv in are you :p It's the lamda on my Volvo - it always comes on in the first few miles of using ultimate or 95ron. I can always clear the fault by turning the ignition o...

Re: Cleaning the wood trim
Is it different to the "Walnut" in my Ti, becuase I'm pretty sure that's just plastic! You won't find any fake wood trim on any Rover. ;) Very thin laminates caked in plastic-y varnish yes, but it did all at least come from some kind of tree. The wood in your bubble is made of m...

It's a complete myth that you get more power from high octane fuel. High quality/high octane fuels may have a higher energy content though, which will make a difference in any car. My understanding was that super unleaded actually has less energy than 95 - its certainly less volatile. I always use ...

The idea is (usually) to gain non-forceful entry. Not kicking doors down or stuff like that. I was thinking about having a nose around an abandoned hospital in northampton a while back. Rover Coupe Turbo F.D.H - Frequently Asked Questions
I thought it was about time we had an F.D.H Frequently Asked Questions, so here we go :) What is an F.D.H Coupe? It's a Rover Coupe turbo registered on an 'N' plate, and with 'F.D.H' as the plate suffix. It's not a specific model or special edition. What's different about them? Stories differ slight...

I prefer the slightly dodgy ones - one near me is supposed to only dispose of cars and not sell parts. They have a rule there where you only pay for anything too big to fit in your pocket :D Always cheap too as its cash. The worst one I went to was in Essex (a good few years ago) - the bloke wanted ...

F D Hs are basicly factory seconds - they were intended for a foreign market that never really materialised. Rover had to buy them back from themselves (ask an auditor) and sold them registered from Longbridge, with the local numberplate code. Imagine it a bit like TKmaxx - you can buy the top spec ...

If someone tailgates me, I slow down... if it's on a dual carriageway in the fast lane, when the traffic clears, I pull over, then as he pulls level with me, I match his speed for a few mins as he struggles to pass. Then, foot to the floor, and watch the poor sod pull in behind me. BMW drivers in p...
