It's been six months since I sold the Rover :( and I feel I've had enough therapy now to part with the Haynes manuals. So - two Haynes manuals for sale: - One for the 820, 825 & *27 (86-95) which cover the engine-related parts of the 220 Turbo coupe as well as the 800s. - One for the 216 & 4...

Coupe turbo *SOLD*

Hi folks, My coupe has just had its MOT and failed on a few things. I normally do a lot of this stuff myself but just don't have the time at the moment, so I'm wondering whether it's time to move on. I've had it for over 11 years and it's served me really well and if I had the time to do little jobs...

Magnecor leads

Thought I'd share a recent experience with Magnecor. Bought a set of Magnecor HT leads for my 220 Coupé turbo about 9-10 years ago (could even have been longer - I've had this car for over 10 years and the same model for 2 years before that), and they had been fine until recently when I took the kin...

Horn

Something else from the garage clearout...

12v horn - from a 1999 Suzuki Bandit 600 bike, but pretty much universal for cars or bikes.

Free, pay the postage or collect from Eastleigh.

Rear view mirror

Rear view mirror originall from my 1995 Coupé but I expect it's pretty universal. Doesn't have the block which it stuck to the windscreen.

Free if you collect from Eastleigh, or pay the postage (£2.20 I think).

Reply by DM please, not on the thread.

Coupé turbo front brake calipers

A number of years ago I replaced the front brake calipers on my coupé turbo with those from an MG ZR180. The old calipers were working fine when removed but have been sat in the garage for about 5+ years (forget when I did it) so I cannot guarantee their condition now. Anyway if they are of any use ...

Car stereos

Clearing out the garage, found two car stereos. Both old cassette ones. First is a Rover one - old but perhaps of interest to a purist who wants something Rover branded. I forgot to note the model number, but it was original fit in my first car, 1990 Rover 214SLi. It has a slightly strange connector...

Coupe window electrics

Driver's side window switches from a 220 Turbo coupe. Has the driver's ("auto") and passenger's switches. Screw holes in the surround are a bit cracked (although would probably do the job if yours is broken), but the switches themselves (which unscrew from the surround) seem to be fine. (I...

220 Coupé turbo exhaust back box

Hi folks,

Does anyone have a rear exhaust section for a 220 coupé turbo for sale? Near Southampton would be ideal as posting will be a pain. Stainless would be nice too.

Don't fancy spending £300 on a new one but fed up with cheap mild steel ones rusting through so quickly.

Thanks,
Mark

Re: Moving in with someone

Thanks for the replies all. As guessed, I am Person A. Good point about her gaining a financial interest in the house - I will indeed seek legal advice on that. I hadn't thought about that aspect. My thoughts were that her saving about £700/month (her current rent + half bills) is a big incentive to...

Re: Moving in with someone

Thanks for the replies so far. I should point out that (at this stage) we're not considering getting married and officially co-owning everything. Simply living together. (Not sure precisely what the difference is, apart from that we'll go to hell, mind.)

interior width is exactly 7'6" which like I said is just big enough to park with a bit of space to climb out into (the sponge is just in case I bump it by mistake, there's actually plenty of room to get in normally). Deffo too small to work on the car though. The door width is 6'10" which...

Hehe, ok, so everyone is somewhat better endowed with garage (both length and girth) than I am. Has anyone got a garage which is just about wide enough to get the car in and comfortably get out of? How wide/long is that wall-wall, and how wide is the door?

How big is your garage?

Afternoon chaps, I'm committing financial suicide and buying a new house. I've found one I like, with a garage (main bug-bear with my current hovel is having to park on the road). Question is whether the garage is big enough to put a car in. I think in reality it won't be big enough to work on a car...

Not if you get punched in the face by a hormonal fist every time you look at them - then it's just entrapment. Sadly/gladly this was a few years ago anyway, before we met.

It's not actually because she hasn't had any :-) Or tell her to stop being rediculous and take some control over her emotions. See you're thinking logically there. Interesting... where is the seatbelt warning light? Do you mean a "you're not strapped in" light? I've never seen one of those light up on this car so either it doesn't work or it was removed (but I don't know how/why that would have happened). No, it hasn't been set off - the clip is brok...
