Oh my. That's just brilliant. Pure genius. It's so good, I don't even know where to start as regards ripping the sh*t out of it.

I couldn't believe how many on the roads there !! 1 in 3 cars is a Rover or MG !!

I've noticed this - they do seem quite prolific around here!

Awesome! Actually, I saw one being used as a taxi the other day. My exact thought process as it approached from head-on and then passed me was: 'Ah, another 800-as-taxi. Bound to be an 825 diesel jobby. Although it's got big wheels on it... check the boot badge... good grief, he's using a Vitesse a...

I like the looks - the fastback is unusual and sweeping, the saloon is tasteful and refined. All models offer good performance, especially the turbos, and they're incredibly affordable. The interior, while dated in its looks, feels quite plush, especially if you have one with those big comfy leather...

I can relate to this thread - not cab driving but I do pizza delivery in the Vitesse. It's always good fun when people see the Dominos pizza uniform and a Rover 800 - the two don't really go hand-in-hand As has been said, the advantage is hacking around on near-deserted roads late at night Although ...

£500 to spend on a track car, eh? Tricky one. I've always loved the idea of a Mk1 Fiesta (a shopping model, not the XR2), finished in white, stripped out, chrome or matt black pipework corner bumpers and four big rallying spots up front, pipework bumper out the back, chrome rollcage and a bucket se...

Took a bit of time to get hold of, but (eventually!) sold me a good turbo and manifold at a great price. Didn't have to go further than my own front door either, as he brought it round to me. Many thanks, good seller. :)

Hi Lara, I'm down the Pick and Shovel quite a bit but don't really go into Ponty itself. Love it down the Pick though, really great pub. Probably going down there tonight, actually! I'm at uni and living in Treforest, about a minute from the Pick! :)

...who's helped me out along the line with my Vitesse's turbo problems. I can now tell you all that IT WORKS! Huzzah!

Smashing, love the performance and the 'bargeness' already. It's nice to drive a big car that can actually shift if you want it to! :D

Thanks once again everyone!

Come on Capri, read the post. Lara is in Dunfermline, Scotland. Poor lady posts and thenevryone jumps on it so much it loses it's original reason. Sorry Lara, i'm in the Midlands. Do you see many other Rover Sportsters up there (Vits, Ti's etc...)? yeah i go down to south wales a lot, and they are ...

Didnt they make a Vitesse SD1 and a few other motors? Though i would have thought it was obvious to tell them its a Rover 800 Vitesse no just a Vitesse True, I see what you mean in that I could have made it a bit clearer. I did hope that, bearing in mind it's listed on the V5 as a Rover Vitesse, an...

Rover parts...

Are they this shockingly bad at every dealership? Just phoned my local one up today and asked for a locking wheelnut key for my 1995 Vitesse, to which I was asked 'What model is it?' I presumed he hadn't heard, so I said again 'It's a Vitesse', to which he replied 'Yeah I know that, but is it a 200,...
