I've just been looking at some pics of a dohc in a 216 coupe, Is the conversion as simple as it looks? does it drop right on in and run on the current loom/ecu?

Also is the bottom end the same? i.e. could i just change the top end of the engine to double?

No different to any of teh others bar it's the smaller capacity 1100 engine and only 8v not 16. Should be cheap to run and insure to with only 59bhp on tap Yea.... I havn't passed my test yet and have a 416i.... first insurance payment for third party, fire and theft is Â£157 and 10 payments of Â£8...

HaHa! its a honda engine i think it would be something different to open the bonnet on my hella colour coded coupe to find under there its a Jap Styled engine Everything under there is going to be Red/White Samco but nothing is going to leak out from under there so its strictly only when the bonnet ...

Does your car have a diagnostics socket?

If so find someone with one or buy one of the cheap diag modules from ebay.... there not bad on rovers!

Dads cougar was doing the same thing and if i recall corectly it was the distributor cap the arm inside was bent (somehow) and it missed on the odd occasion.

Well last night shown the final straw... it's having a DOHC Now

But its staying automatic with the ECU Chipped to allow it to rev much higher!

Thus the revs should be kind of equal to a manual.... i hope.... maybe its a load of doggies?? HeLp Me!

Yeah its worth it because when it becomes a DOHC Manual when this engine finally goes pop for some "UNKNOWN" Reason

Preferably not removing my engine as finding a DOHC with an Automatic Box is going to be a biatch bcus i have no idea how todo the change of the boxes and would cost me about Â£450 to have it just attached in a garage.......
