Ultrasonoc Alarm

Post by KernowRover »

Good Afternoon All,

Can you advise please?

I am just in the process of installing a rover ultrasonic alarm in my rover 75 connoisseur, will I be able to use pscan to program it to the car?

Many thanks

Tom.

I don't know what a "rover ultrasonic alarm" is. The only one that we support at the moment is the 5AS.

An ultrasonic alarm fits to the headlining and detects movement within the locked car.
Was fitted as an option when the car was new.

You'll probably need a t4 operator to program it in. It won't be something that you can just plug and play, you'll more than likely need you zcs coding changing which an experienced t4 operator will be able to do.
You'll get more help on the 75 zt owners club

If your car has the Lucas 5AS alarm ECU, then you should be still able to program the fobs, a lot of MGFs have the ultrasonic cabin movement sensor fitted and they program up ok with the Pscan.

You would need to find out if there is any difference between 5AS ECUs that are/aren't fitted with ultrasonic sensors (check part numbers) If there is a difference then your probably better off fitting the correct ECU

Here's what the 5AS looks like

if your car has one of these then you'll be able to program the fobs.
I don't know the ZT so I have no idea if they came with the 5AS or not and I wouldn't know where it would be located in the car, but I suspect that it'd be hiding behind the dash.

Please excuse me for my ignorance but I thought there was only one type of fob.

I thought that the Pektron was only fitted on the last MGF, 25 and 45. I was imagining that the 75 would have a BMW based system.

Rover 75 certanly does not have the same Pektron box as the rest of MGR models.
