Santa Pod virgin

Post by rover220coupe »

Hoping to get baby up the Pod in the near future, but not having ever been before wondered a couple of things...

1) Do you need a helmet?
2) Do you pay per run, or do you pay per day. If per day do you get a guaranteed number of runs?
3) Do you get a printout of your time at the end of a run?

Thanks in advance guys.

1) only if your car is going to do 100mph+ by the finish line
2) No you pay a lump sum and it's unlimited runs
3) Yes, collect your slip from the registrations hut (you need yoru car reg)

Don't forget your driving license either!!

8)

Cool, cheers. Just thought of something else, do they measure 0-60, and quarter mile? What sort of quarter would I need to run to be at 100 at the line?

Thanks

they don't measure 0-60. only 60ft times ;)

I did a 1/4 in 14.4s @ 98mph, but depending on torque and bhp of the car, it could be anything really :|

I think its around 14sec, high 13's 1/4 which gives 100mph.

no one bothers with the 100mph limit at end, so don't worry about helmet.

it's usually NOT pay once and run unlimited.
It's pay between £12-£15 and you get THREE runs, but you can go and get another set of three run tickets if you desire.

No its pay £15 and unlimited runs on a RWYB day.

On some of the larger events its pay £15 for 3 runs which they give you a wristband with 3 tags on. But to be honest at the big events your lucky to get in 1 run per hour.

I did a 14.5 @ 100mph the last time i did it with a rubbish 2.7 60ft time.

Went I went a RWYB it was £15 unlimited runs (omly I only got one run as some american P.O.S. blew up and they spent hours cleaning up the oil) Then when it finally came to my run the adrenaline was going and I really messed up 1st to 2nd and ran a 16.9

Very embarrassing!

easy spunky...just ask one of us on the day.

just line up they will tell you to move forward or backward till the lights go to set position (white light)

when both lanes are "set", they simply go red, then green, and you gun it.

the rest of it you'll learn, like burnouts etc ;)

The pre stage and stage bits do work thou.

These are two yellow lights at the top of the main lights. Once you have them both lit then the lights will go green, the just put ya foot down!

You want a little bit of spin, but its a balancing act. To much spin you dont move, to little power and you bog down and you get a slow time. Practice is whats needed for good times.

Why a standard Coupe is 14.9 so if you beat 14.9 your doing better than standard.
