I'm tempted, very tempted but I dont have the time, work pressure plus decorating the house in time for guests coming over plus mrs needing her car quick.
if it held out a month i'd of finished project, sorted house, took a few days off and done it myself. alas these things sent to test us.
so far I think it's going to the place that sorted my BRM it's half the cost, but still a week in waiting
I paid £320 for mine (T16 turbo) 2 weeks ago, and it was ready the same afternoon
Most ridiculous quote I ever had for this was on a Saab 9000 Carlsson Turbo - not even a main dealer - best I could see was £1100! The scrappy loved me that week

this was only std K - not even the excuse of the VVC mech !!!
Jesus... was that newest type of gasket(tri-layer one) with modified bearing ladder and head bolts too?
I vaguelly remember old book time a year ago or so was 6-7hours for simple gasket change at dealer rate of £60ish p/h plus vat so ~£450. Then skim(£50ish) plus extra time for changin ladder then parts £130ish including belt, bolts etc. Can see how they got to that figure sorta. Not defending it honest.
K's aint that difficult dude would deffo look into land rover remote stat mod if i had a K again and needed H/G change
