It was on Facebook actually, dont know what the hell was going on as it was Mark selling it not Peter, so by the sounds of it you got beaten to it twice! I feel your pain...

It was Peter Charlesworth(you remember the guy who had it in 2000) who bought it back of Mark, he was the guy selling it on Ebay. :(

Meh everything happens for a reason (i guess)

Your right, everything does happen for a reason. Sometimes best not to go into the past, move on to better things.

Well deal done :) . Picked it up at 8am. All insured and booked in at friends garage for MOT at 9am.

Bloody hell it's fast :o Sounds Awesome

Staying there till Thursday for everything it needs. And it's not worth Taxing it at this time of the month.

Needs abit of TLC. But i can't wait to get stuck in :D

That was a really awesome car IMO! The best MG Maestro Turbo i have ever seen, and it absolutely gleamed in all the pics! Still got a really nice pic of it on my PC, and it's one car that id swap my turbo coupe for in a heartbeat!

What boosts it running? Used to 17PSi when i had it, that was fastish. Please offer me first refusal when you sell it, been trying to get it back for years. Be sure to listen out for pinking, and keep the carb in tune or youll crack a piston or two.

bizzare how you sold it in the first place if you liked it so much :? :?

on the brighter side - I think your current motor is much better  I would be suprised if you sold your CTR for a maestro.

Hey Imran, fianancial and personal reason to sell it originally.

Thanks for the compliments, the CTR is a significantly better car, but theres just something about theat car, the brutal straightline power for one, but the character of it. And believe it, the CTRs new owner comes next week, unfortunately ive been shafted over the Maestro, so ill have to look elsewhere for a new motor, perhaps an EVO8, or a citroen 2cv. Who knows.

Well i have always thought of the Maestro turbo as a sort of 2wd version of a Lancia Integrale, in that it's an ugly but very charming and characterful boxy 5door hatch, that you would buy for it's ability and repuatation, but never for it's clean lines and eye catching looks. I do like ugly car's sometimes, and the Maestro is one of the best non looker's that i can think of.

No one buys Evo's and Impreza's for their looks surely? so they are like a modern day purposeful agressive and desirable but still ugly car!

Had a 5 figure offer just before the Maestro came up for sale. Then when the stro was for sale i accepted, only to be shafted by the god of fate.

Thanks for the advise Mark. Dont really know what the boost is but the gauge showed 10psi i think. I have only driven it back from Prescot.
Its been in the garage ever since hoping to get it back on Thurday :)

It's having both CV boots replaced.
MOT
Needed abit of welding in the boot (nothing major and not mot failer but i wanted it done),
Power steering leak jubilee clip on rack,
Rear seatbelts need refitting
Theres a problem with main beam lights they have lost there live. Think thats it..

And then is going back in for a service and cam belt change. I did notice a slight missfire when i drove it on the motorway. I'm hopefully getting it booked in with Ken at RE Performance in Bury for a tune up after the service.

It needs abit of TLC. If i never decide to sell or run out of money. Mark you will be the first to know. :)
