it might not look that bad compared to yours mate but its still reall gutting. you pay all that money and spend a hell of a lot of time on it, and some cobbler comes along and thinks it would clever if they put a 'go faster strip down the side. i wouldn't mind but it isnt even straight. there no need for it is there!!!

chips away? thanks i'll give it a try bud.
:)
think chavs would of done mine also.

try find a decent mobile paint guy in your area, should be able to blend that in for not too much. But yeah its the principle that people have no respect for other peoples property thats the major bummer.

Maybe someone's caught it with a bag walking past?

It's depressing, but might not be malicious afterall.

Some little kid wrote his name in the rain on my bonnet one morning and as the car was slightly dirty it scratched the paint. I was slightly miffed !
It took a little bit of polishing out to get rid of it but when the barstewards do it to vandalise a car on purpose, it's as you say annoying at best. Like when people just bang their car doors against yours in car parks as they are too lazy to check the available space.
I remember looking out of the front of a shop where I worked only to see a woman bump her way into a parking space which was only just long enough for her X1/9. Luckily, they did have large rubber bumpers but it's scary the way some people treat their cars, and other peoples.

as my own car begins its journey of looking more shabby ive been toying with this logic -

if ur cars mint people will show upmost respect for it... but if ur car has a badge missing bad paint scuffs... no hubcap whatever.. just generally looks a bit messy they will think its a banger ill do what i like to it?

do you think that has any truth or not?

Not a chance. I saw an almost new MG ZR in yellow near Rochdale once and someone had poured paint stripper over most of the bonnet, front wings and doors. Now that is the sort of thing which upsets me.
Why?

Just looking at your location, where abouts in bury are you mate?

I've seen two FDH's... one in Bury last September (it looked exactly like yours, totally standard). It was driving through the town centre and did a dump... I was grinning like a little kid.

The other is steve-o's old car, but that has cream leather (I think) and big alloys.

Your reg is also familiar :) Be good to see it in person.

As for the key marks, they're nothing but stupid little barstewards. They deserve to get their hands chopped off!

:o Bastards!

For now, or until you get it repaired, use some scratch remover (make sure its safe for metallic paint), T-cut metallic and a ood coat of wax - it'll help blend it a little for now. :)

Having not long ago had my car damaged by the scum that seem to occupy the greater manchester area, I know how you feel.
Trust me, you will eventually stop feeling homecidal, then you'll just want to kneecap the little blighters. Then when you accept that there isn't a damn thing you can do, you just resolve that you'll be more public spirited and act against anyone you see commiting a crime against someone elses property.

If you get it while it is freash, some decent fine cutting polish (i reccomend auto-glym) and some car wax (not polish) and just work on it alternating between the two.

Mine came out a treat :)
