dam, mine is 93 and iam glad to say the rust was only surface level mainly and
it ate into the front wings a bit.
Some previous owner waxed the insides on both sills which stopped the rust dead I think
On a side note I notice you have changed the trailing arm bushs? How did it feel after removing the passive rear steering?
Passive rear steering??
The poly rear trailing arms are good, just going to be doing all the rest of the rear later this week as it failed on the rear drops as well, may as well poly them while i'm there.
I will be interested to see the finished pictures.
I guess even considering how rust resistant the R8 seems, it isn't foolproof.

Just remember someone scrapping a car cos of the same problem, and yes I know it was rusty across top of screen too but for an alledged specialist hardly difficult!
Guess it depends how rare the car is, how much you want to keep it etc, as Steve's done alot to his car, and its mostly tidy, and worth more than £100, its worth doing, and like MGTurbo was saying in moral support, its not a bad job,and not in a bad area.

Why keep bringing this up, the car was abused and would have made no money selling it on thats why it was broken, it wasnt because i wasnt capable of fixing it

So you change your socks once every two years? My god you must be difficult to live with.
Yep still easier to get on with than you'll ever be!
I spose you've had plenty of practise at rust removal!
I'm not the one that is awkward all the time, i'll make an effort to get on with anyone except those that try and make a fool out of me and your one of them. Don't ever say a word to me again unless your nice.
i think that is a bit strong on a public forum TBH
