Now you have finally found the right place - go and use the search function

It wont give you all the answers but no-one here is going to hand everything to you on a plate

Tip - sort the gearbox and shafts first ! - after that the engine is the least of your worries! As per your other reply on the same post topic - look for posts by Jonny and Nad for inspiration. Loose the caps and people may be more inclined to help

And yes - I'm the same Mark that gave you a little grief on CRX-UK ;)

If everyone did a search everytime there would be no forum.

Is it?? if everyone has the answers no one would post up anything would they !! dosent take a rocket scientist to work that one out

I got told to do a search a while back on something. Could only find two topics regarding my question and both were of no help.

Everyone knows how to do a search. Pointless posting ''do a search'' in every topic.

thing is we know there are some threads on here with great info for 2 conversions that have already been done.

also as you havnt done anything at all yet, there is no specific questions about what fits where that we can answer.

so if you see a reply that asks you to search for a related topic, it is for a good reason.

I find searching takes a fair bit of finesse to refine it to what you're really looking for, people use different phrases for things than you might, so you looking for "me GTI VTACK conversion innit" probably wouldnt return anything vaguely useful, whereas "B16 engine conversion" might

Indeed, tell you what, just try copying and pasting this into search area

B16 + engine + conversion

Then have a read :)

Im not trying to cause a argument im just saying it can be annoying at times when folk seem to automatically jump straight away for the ''do a search'' button.

TBH looking at the forum from what ive seen there's very few repeat mundane type questions anyway like the old ''what induction kit'', ''what size wheels should i go for'' etc etc....

Thats because most users realise the archive of post on here will generally be just as useful as any threads they create. Hell if they have another question after reading previous threads they can just tag a question to the end of it. That way the other user's are more aware of the question context and it builds the knowledge base upwards.

I don't know if the Rover in question originally had a Honda D16 lump fitted or is a Rover engined car. But the general opinion that i seem to keep hearing about on various Honda Forums, and from people who modify Honda's, is that the best most cost effective way to get more power without spending silly money, is to swap a B16 into any D-series powered car.

The Logic is that the B16 is a more powerful engine than any nasp D-series can ever really become, and also it's an excellent base for further tuning, from low cost breathing upgrades that seem to be very effective, to full major expense all motor builds and forced induction builds, which both have far greater performance potential for any level of cost, compared to putting the same money into a D-series engine build.

Also people say that if you have never done a Honda engine swap from a D-series powered car, to any other Honda unit before, that the B16 is the best and most straightforward, VFM first swap to do.
