Well the Longbridge Re-Production year is upon us...

Post by southside »

Well place your bets people. Does anyone think NacMG and Nanjing will stick to there promise and start churning TF's and ZT's out of longbridge again before summer 07?

And also this is the last year that any origonal unregistered MGR's can be registered as it two years after production ended. So wont ever see any MGR origonals on anything newer than an 07 plate :(

Nanjing seem to have kept to their word thus far and I have no reason to doubt them now. The timetable may slip - these sort of things do - but I expect Longbridge cars to be built again this year.

Hopefully they will, I can see the appeal of having a car built in the UK as they do like that kind of thing over there, probably moreso Japan than China, but look at how the Mini is wanted over there, and the repro British replicas they do. Time will tell no doubt :)

well apparently accoding to one source longbridge have already been holding inteveiws for new workers and also they plan to have the 1st complete running MG TF S2 as its going to be named off the production line before the 2nd aniversary of longbridge closure which is april 07. Could be all made up stories though.

10-1 I think. It would be nice though and perhaps the supply of spares for the Z series and the 75(0e) would start again so no more cars are written off due to headlamp clusters or front bumpers not being available.

From going past longbridge the only work going on was a bull dozer pulling the place to shreds. Also 'security' half asleep. I cant see it personally.

yes most of longbridge is being demolised. Its the land that was sold off years ago then leased back to re-coupe some money. its only the area around Q gate that is staying. it will only be small scale production. Nothing like it used to be.
