Do ZTs feel fast?

Post by zozzie_9t9 »

Was in my dad's 75 today. At some point I wonder about going from the ti to a ZT (a 190 probably...) and was wondering if ZTs feel fast or not because the 75 feels so slow! Going along at 60 and you feel as if you are hardly moving!

I know the suspension and steering are set up in totally different ways on the ZT and 75, but the 75 does such a good job of isolating you from the outside world that I thought I'd ask how the ZT feel!

shockingly smooth and quiet (1.8 turbo)

the only way I know i'm moving is the torque surge from the turbo lol

makes a nice change from the coupe although I still miss it :(

Impossible question to answer IMHO.

It's a relative matter and almost entirely subjective. Although I think it would be fair to say that the sensation of speed is dulled a bit in the 75 and slightly less so in the ZT. The 75/ZT is quite a big car and is renowned for a beautifully smooth ride so it won't feel as quick as it is.

I think its only feels slow because its so comfy and smooth and quiet you cant here the outside world.

i.e most chavs think because they've fitted a loud exhaust and a heatsoaking induction kit their cars 30mph quicker but its not. It just feels quicker because you can here the engine revs e.t.c

my zt feels quick enough, 160 version certainly dont hang about but not rocket fast, the best bit is the way it corners, once ur up to speed there is no need to back off handles country lanes very well and some corners at 3 figures

The best way for you to answer your question is to go for a demonstration run in a ZT. If you see one on a local used car lot take the opportunity to have a run in it.

ZT's rule and they handle really well, would like to have a go in one with the optional sports suspension to see what that feels like...

The ZT does feel a lot slower than the 600, ask anyone who has changed from on to the other. It's made worse if you were driving a 600ti as the power delivery on the 190 is completely different.

They are smooth and quiet and comfortable. A tuned diesel is the best bet - trust me...unless you can aford to run a 260. I found the 190 very disapointing after the ti.

Its supprising how well the zt's handle, i took part in an open day at the local sprint course (curborough)
And we fist went out in an instructors car, we whent in a ZT-T 190 auto and i was quite impressed with the acelleration and the way it stuck into the corners at a far higher speed that i would have thought posible!

I just remember thinking we will never get round that corner!
