Rover coupe turbo Import for sale Mint!

Hi all 1st just testing the water wanted to see what I got offered really! and the fact every time I look at it I think Er no don't sell it lol any ways

Right the car was imported back in the uk in 2000 from Japan basically, people that don't know Rover made a FDH model to import over to japan, but for some reason they didn't go. But some did slip throw the net! So these are not only hard to find but very rare.

I am the 4th owner off this car last owners where off the owners club 1st owner was a mechanic who imported the car in to the uk from imported cars.com still have paper work! 2nd owner was a man in hes 50's he owned this for ages and passed it on to his son. 3rd owner was some one off the owners club who only used the car on some week ends, that's why the mileage is very low also.

The car has full service history every 7 to 10k its been serviced, cam-belt has been done twice in its life also head gasket, water pump, timing belt, uprated head bolts this was done 9 months ago no oil leaks will be found on this car!

since owning the car Iv had the gear box rebuilt and uprated with a uprated clutch also. This was done about 3months ago costing me £600 Qd had all gear box baring uprated in the box as this is a week point if your wanting to run more boost all diff bearing and seals where changed and uprated also.

I took this time to have a full winter services oil, plugs, leeds, fuel filter, oil and oil filter and fresh coolant. which was £150 on top off the £600 so its had some money spent on it in the last few months!

I had the manifold off, all exhaust gaskets have been changed and uprated also turbo gaskets, iv had a full exhaust fitted with decat pipe sound mint to be fair. the car has been lowed around 30mil, so not loads sits just right.

Its running around 11psi thats boost! it was put on the rolling road and made 221bhp and 297Nm so not bad really I do have prof!

The brakes have been uprated to the Mg Zs 180 set up with BRM wheels, sets the car off very nice, Forge Dv piston one, not the crape ones you can get. Also uprated the spring to help with running more then standard boost, the engine is very clean as you can see from the photos.

I use the car every week end and its kept locked up in my garage in the week, I my self am over 30 and I can easily say the car never been driven like its been stolen!

Mot is 7 months, I like to add I do have every one off the old Mot's. Tax 6 months! Mileages on the car is 80k can easily prove this, there doesn't smoke on tick over, not water lose or funny sounds, the cars always warmed up before driving.

Like to just point out I have so much paper work for this car, I was able to track down all last owners and speak to them I know sad but I like to know the facts, and I my self am off the owners club just wanted every one to know this and hope you can see how mint off a car this really is and how its been looked after, and how its a very rare model, one off the reasons I'm not to sure about swapping or selling. I'm sure I have missed some think out.

I am after around £1900

Many Thanks

Having been actively looking to buy a Coupe, I have seen some good ones and some not so good ones! :)

This one appears to fall in neither category. It looks absolutely showroom mint and to be really honest with you, if it were my car I wouldn't even think of selling it. I would keep it garaged and only use it as a fair weather ride! :D

Money is easily replaceable. Turbo Coupes of this condition and mileage are getting rarer as time goes by, why sell a car you may regret not keeping? :)

Otherwise, if you are set on selling. I would certainly consider buying. If my insurance isn't too silly for two 220s!

I know you have spent a bit of money on it, which is a shame as you don't get money back on stuff like gearbox repairs.

However, I was going to buy this car when the previous owner had it for £1500 , with one less owner on the log book.

Ill pay somewhere between that and what its up for, but closer to mine than yours ;)

Mate, that coupe is worth the asking price all day long. How quick do you need shot??

You're never going to get top dollar here on RT.

If I were you, I would stick it on Autotrader and Pistonheads and then hold out for a bit.

Everyone knows that your coupe is a good one hence the straight offers

I personally would keep it - mint ones like yours will go up in value sooner or later.

Yes, I agree. Definitely keep the Coupe. :D

As nice as this other car is, it is just another bubble turbo conversion, but with a BRM interior. :annoy:

I know what I would do............carry on owning and enjoying that classic performance Rover

for sale well maybe
We have not got a 'Might be for sale' section.

It has had its 5 minutes of air-time and everyone I am sure is aware of this car from this thread and previous.

Either it is for sale or it isn't.
