Afternoon All,

I'm selling up and will be listing parts over the coming week. First up is the fully uprated T16 Engine that is in my Coupe 220 Turbo.

In my opinion, and feel free to tell me to keep it to myself, i doubt you'd ever get 2grand for the engine in a year of sundays, let alone a month.

You know how it is.

2 grand is steep forged bottom ends on egay struggle to make £500

Im not denying its worth, its just people dont have, or wont spend the money on rovers, and those that do, are very few and far between.

price seems fair for a genuine forged engine tbh,i wouldnt let mine go no less than that either,look at all the trouble and costs to build aint a cheapo m+o series

you can always drop a price but very rare you can raise one....

If someones building one up and wants a tried and tested powerplant then this is a good option. the price imho represents roughly a refurb donor engine + a percentage of the cost modified parts, (definately not the full cost of the parts)


If it was a Cosworth engine with similar build you could ask 5K + no one would blink at that.

I already have most of parts for my rebuild or I would be interested in doing a deal, good luck with the sale.

Just what I was going to put, if you price up the parts of forgie pistons and then if you want to run them without risk, you'll need to price up some forgie conrods as well, then add gaskets and to take advantage of the bottom end setup you'll need a gas flowed head and decent cams.

Well all that together and you'll have a large parts bill.

I see what you're saying but also if it were a cosworth engine it would be fitted into a car worth 10times more. All relative i guess.

Its upto you what you sell the engine for, but I cant think of many people willing to pay that tbh, I`v seen forged builds go for a quarter of what your asking

I would buy without hesitation for a 1/4 of the asking price.

Guys, this is a for sale thread, not a what's it worth thread!

For what it's worth I think this engine should be worth some good money, as it comes with a lot of providence, which is not what you get with the average slap some pistons in jobby.

First post edited to now include; Starter motor, Charge cooler and Sports Cat.
