I was walking past the dvla office yesterday and there was the cleanest concours example of othi I have every seen. It was better than showroom condition.
I though what an awesome car we had in the 80s. Then it made me think what other awesome cars we had. So come on let's get nostalgic.

being a kid of '85, if you didnt know about this you werent cool
i still remember getting this model car one xmas
i remember my dads pal had a white one and it was quick compared to anything looking back now, he owned that until 1999 when he finally sold it on after numerous attempted thefts/hi-jacks and nothing but grief from would be thiefs trying to steal it during the night
for me it has to be the toyota corrolla rwd 1.6gt coupe, pure doughnut machine.
Wish i had kept mine in the garage as they are a small little fortune now.
Not just posting this as it's a Rover forum, but because I've wanted one for years! I remember when I was little, a neighbour of ours had a shiny new Mk1 3500 and to me it was the coolest car ever in the existence of the world!
One day, I shall finally go completely nutty and accept that a big V8 with numerous electrical problems and a coating of iron oxide is my destiny.
I've actually nearly bought an SD1 Vitesse twice - first one sold on my way to go and see it, and the second one I won on Ebay, but the seller pulled out as he wanted more money.
911 turbo for me,but UR Quattro too, most memorable car rallying back then ,moved the goalposts..
Gartrac G6's ! talk about low level production lol, 30 were built, 3 were 4 wheel drive,27 rear wheel drive.... Quite amusing to see the amount of C0cks nowadays putting YB's in em instead of keeping them as they were built with cologne's.
I like the Mk1 XR3i's. Nearly bought one a few years back. It was a toss up between a red A reg XR3i or a red A reg Mk1 Astra GTE. Both had been restored and totally standard. I remember the Esccy literally having what felt like NO suspension. It was rock hard So I bought the GTE. Looking back I wish I'd have bought the XR.
And any excuse for a gratuitous shot of my fave 80's car
Owned this for just shy of 10yrs now and love it!!
£5k them shitty clio bring on ebay. £5k! Ridiculous.
o rly? was just lookin at one for £1800, oh other awesome cars...Porsche 959 and Renault 5 Turbo. The mid engine, rwd one
Haha i was looking at that too, but its had the arches and stuff redone, and i would be wary of anything like that unless its mint. Mileage is high too!

for 5k I would expect 1 owner and 16000 miles, like a certain SEi I missed out on anyway off topic a tad lol
ur quattro (note the lower case q !) for me too. My mate's Dad had one of the first in the country, LHD and silver in colour. At least it was until he went under an artic when joining the motorway. He was offered £6000 for it in the badly damaged condition after the accident. Bear in mind it was around 1982 and £6k was a lot of money. The last time I saw one when they were still in production was an E reg in dark green metallic. What made me think just how cool that car had been was the word "quattro" in the heated rear window elements.
