Im wondering if an injector fell apart tbh (never seen it happen mind you), maybe if it had run up on its own oil as they let the ends of the injector when that happens.
I cant see someone going to that amount of trouble to insert a bb in there !

Remove the glow plug (assuming its a diesel, yeah?) and Roberts yer fathers brother, a perfect hole for a bearing to "fall" down.

Yeah but to do thatin that cylinder you would need to remove the inlet manifold !Dave_214_SEi wrote:Remove the glow plug (assuming its a diesel, yeah?) and Roberts yer fathers brother, a perfect hole for a bearing to "fall" down.
I suppose it could get in the inlet, but given it wasnt expelled im unsure it would get past an inlet valve with out causeing damage first.

Well however it got in there I'm sure it was some deliberate shenanigans. He should name and shame the garage tbh.

It does do that, which annoys me. I just want to how and why I got in there, I've seen some odd things with cars but that's in the top 3. Poor ZT

Re: ball bearing in ZT-T engine with pics
Story doesn't sit right with me. Why would you take a car to a garage for brakes lines and an oil change when you're confident enough to strip down an engine? My guess is they dropped something inside the engine when they were changing the injectors and decided to just risk it.
.
Got to agree it's too easy to blame mechanics. It's surprising how ignorant people are of the most basic warnings of their cars let alone periodic checks. I remember a customer of my Dad's coming to see him in a rage. Complaining that the engine had seized because there was no oil in the engine. His logic was that this was my Dad's fault because he had serviced the car. When my Dad looked back at his invoices he found that it was 18 months since the serviceDin wrote:Possable... i just hate the fact everyone blames mechanics, gives us all a bad nameDave_214_SEi wrote: I'm sure it was some deliberate shenanigans.![]()

Audi B6 S4 Avant
Rover 221 coupe turbo 255.5bhp & 256.1lbs/ft (in the garage)
Rover 214 Mk3 Turbo Conversion (in bits)
Rover 416 GSi (in the garden)
Re: ball bearing in ZT-T engine with pics
Nasty!! Suspicious if you ask me, but i guess anything is possible.
Still, its worth repairing if it sells cheap. Should be worth £3k once done, and engines arent that expensive. Rather heavy and bulky though.. Sat nav is worth £0 frankly. Its old and rubbish, just shove a standard radio in there, will sound better anyway.
Strip the old engine, clean the inlet manifold and sell it (£50), turbo (£100?), injectors fetch £50 to 100 each. Loads of bits are worth quite a bit on these.

I'm confident enough to do most things on a car including stripping down the engine however I'll ALWAY take the car in for brake related jobs as I'd prefer a professional to do it so that I don't f**k up. But that's just a personal thing.SubCat001 wrote:Story doesn't sit right with me.
