Post by Mr_James »

Well been quite a long time since I've been here so thought I'd pop by and see how things are going my dad now has my rover it's still going strong failed it's last MOT due to lambda being too high garage said it was the o2 sensor luckily my parents listened to me and it was the thermostat causing it 8)

The MR2 is in bits once again not sure what i'll do with it though and currently driving a Saab 900 Turbo 8 which is running 1.4bar 219bhp/263lb best part about it is the heated seats though! :w00t:

The MR2 not sure what group it is all I know is insurance wasn't cheap due to the fact it's a jap import and the mods including the fact it has the Rev3 jap engine which is 178bhp so pretty nippy for a NA

How have you never been pulled over?

I've been pulled over about twenty times in the 2 years and ... uh... 6 months I've been driving.

Is it just me?

Oh, COME ON.

I hope December is better for me, it seems to be 'insult Vard' month...

The first time I was pulled for driving in the middle of Hungerford after leaving the Railway Tavern, where I was watching a friend's first gig (moral support). Hadn't got me lights on, so he said 'yeah, it could just be an oversight because you're in the middle of town, but you could also be drunk'. ... 'Fair enough', I said, and so the first time I was pulled over with my GF in the car, I was breathalised. I had in fact had eight drinks, and so failed horribly. When I saw the big red light of doom on the tester, though, I knew all was lost, so I decided to take that Cop out. I dropped, and spun, and swept his legs, following through with a brutal oyusuki-godan to his throat, stopping the breath in his lungs. I dragged the flailing body behind the cop car and tucked it into a gap between two shopfronts. Then I took the Police Mondeo, and drove it fourteen miles till I found a section where I could drop it unobtrusively into a deeper part of the River Avon.

Then we went home, and had a rather nice Carbonara.*

*This may not in fact be a true story. The above events may not actually have taken place.

How have you never been pulled, Din? Like ten of the times I was pulled were in Swindon!
Mostly just random ANPR checks by bored guys driving round...

Of course, it kinda balances out, because one of the times I was pulled over was actually for the officer to tell me he thought I had caught a slide and brought it back very skillfully.

In retrospect, I should have asked for it in writing... :D

I have, usualy for no apparent reason when we lived in brum.
Maby there could be a reason thinking about it due to driving round brum at 3am in the week (trying to get our 3 month old son at the time to sleep) and the car still being registered in burntwood.

But having said that as soon as the copper looks in and see's my son in the car they let me get on my way. lol

Ive been pulled over for being in the wrong lane on a dual carriageway :? yes i should have been in the left hand lane but i would have cut the copper up and not many people drive in the left hand lane around the back of selly oak/weoly castle area due to there always being parked cars there.

The whole thing, preferably with video!

Also, I think you'll find an oyusuki to the throat would become oyusuki-nodo, jodan (note spelling) is to the head height.

Not that I'm being pedantic when it comes to your fine storytelling, indeed I sense you will be on course for Young Authors 2009 at this rate - need a good editor though :newbie:

Eh, it's been four years. And I've never seen them spelled. I did on first instinct put 'gidan', which iirc was crotch height, but wasn't sure so changed it. Seems I was wrong anyway. Jodan - chudan - gidan, is how I was taught the three levels, I don't remember a nodo.

You a martial arts man too, or just a google fiend?

Different art probably, used to be Karate for, ooh, must've been 7 years. That never had a nodo, just Jodan/Chudan/Gidan. Now it's Ninjutsu and MMA though, which does. :P

Anyway, getting off topic, lets not turn this into another lucky escape thread

Rofl. It's teetering.

Maybe if I just mention that my dog's got an orange nose and tail...

Was a Karate (of the Southern Shotokan discipline) myself, for perhaps seven or eight years. Miss it horribly, am really thinking of going back.

Same as me then. I was thinking of going back to Karate also, but I went along to an MMA/Ninjutsu 3 hour sesh at a place in Portsmouth near me and fell for it straight away. It's so flexible and the whole system is a completely different feel. It's great tbh :)

NOW BACK ON TOPIC DAMN YOU

I think you're going to need about 3000bhp to justify an exhaust of that size...

I was assuming it was a 5" outlet rather than all the way through? In which case it's not overall any larger than the 6x4 Oval I had on the Coupe (and many people have had...). Though to be fair the exhaust on the MR2's is only diddy anyway, I remember Tallbloke showing me his backbox (oo-er) and downpipe and it just looked like half the exhaust was missing!
