Anyone ever been incorrectly done for speeding...

For things that don't fit into a category. i.e. non-motor related subjects.

Anyone ever been incorrectly done for speeding...

Post by Dave_ZS »

Today the missus got a letter claiming she was doing 35 in a 30. Now the problem is, she was in the house all day and the car was outside. And the speed camera is in Wales

So this leaves 3 scenarios
A) her plate has been cloned
B)the police camera has misread the "offenders" plate
Or C) the welsh police have REALLY strong, innacurate speed camera.

So my question is, has this happened to anyone on here? If so, how do you prove to them you weren't where they claim you were?

Cheers, Dave.

If you have trouble making yourself understood to Inspector Brunstrom, just add "boyo" to the end of every sentence

 I was thinking that myself, the thing is, she has a private plate and its a bit unique  and all the pics of the car on facebook/forums I blurred the plate. So we're rather confused :?

You might have to go to court mate,

I had one for the mini, said I was caught by camera over 160 miles away when I was at work, oh and the front of the mini was cut off and engine sold.

I took along a clocking report from work signed/swore an afrodavit and it ended there.

I did however get a fine from Dvla the following week for failing to sorn a untaxed car. Bastards.

Was about to say I cant beleive that beers still in charge.

Re the subject, I have, about 6 times. Problem is i was always at the location they claimed

If its a camera surely they have a pic of the car. iirc they can and do do car vs plate comparisons.

You say it's a private plate?

I used to know someone that drove with a private plate that wasn't registered because 'it looks good'.

Maybe this car owner wanted the plate you've got so had it made up anyway.
