Top Gear Patagonia special

Post by 34DAN »

Did anyone watch the new Top Gear two-part special over the weekend? I can't believe I'm the first to comment on it.

Despite the controversy surrounding the number plate on Clarkson's Porsche 928GT, (that had the numbers 82 and FKL), I think this was the funniest special ever, I was laughing and giggling every few minutes.

And we all know the Lotus used Rover door handles and not Vauxhall as Clarkson stated.

I was thinking that everytime I caught a glimpse of the door handles. The indicator/wiper stalks are from Vauxhall though, I regonised them from my Tigra Twintop!

Yeh, I couldn't stop laughing at the beaver hats and general pranks and banter throughout the programme. Good stuff! :mrcool:

I thought it was lame, like massively! The most interesting part was when it was serious and the locals wanted them out the country.

I mean come on...

I love Top Gear and always a first to defend it but to be honest I found it boring and predictable.

A lot of the jokes and situations had been re-used from previous specials and series including the cow on the roof and the windscreen washers.

Part two was better than the first which just seam to be them driving between Tarmac and gravel roads and nothing really happening.

The cow on the roof was not necessary or funny.
I'm no vegie but it was highly disrespectful, I bet it would be edited out when they sell it to other countries such as India.

It kills me that they butchered a 71 Mustang into a pick up. Ok it might not have been the best example out there but it was still a roadworthy classic. Now quietly rotting in some forlorne corner of Argentina I guess.

Was it just me or was the mustang not with the convoy when they were ambushed? I spotted the Porsche and lotus but not the stang.

All the cars were decent when bought. In fact the lotus was bought from a proper dealer and was quite rare. Only had very low mileage too and had been in a museum for the past 5 years.

No word of where the Porsche came from but according to HPi the plate had been on it from new.
