I thought Hondas were supposed to be reliable???

For things that don't fit into a category. i.e. non-motor related subjects.

I thought Hondas were supposed to be reliable???

Post by mach1rob »

Well it started with dad saying his Civic started playing up not starting and deciding it liked to stay in Park and didn't want to consider R,N,D etc at all, turns out it's a common fault on the autos, and he's got to wait for a part to turn up! Not bad for a car that's not yet 8 months old

Then I had the joy of picking a 53 plate Accord up the other day, paperwork stated "Intermittent fault, starts but cuts out often" no biggy really as it only has to get on back of truck, well I get it started, and it just about runs let alone moves, didn't even have the power to get on the truck  In fact it expired completely the 2nd try

Think it's broke!

Image

Currently dumped out the back and beyond at Blackbushe with all the other knackered stuff if anyone wants a shagged and nasty Honda!

Are they both autos? I thought when serious faults kick in they activate a 'get you home' mode with no power and no revs to ensure nothing else gets paggered in the 'box?

could that be why it wouldnt get up the ramp?

Not entirely unreasonable when they're giving some cars 20k service intervals nowadays.

You'd think they would go off and annoy people on a Nova forum or something, would be more entertaining surely, baseball hats and hoodies asking to meet them in the flesh for fisty cuffs.
