Personally I do'nt think it's such a good idea to get a plate which is related to the car (like the R200xxx ones) so stick with one which is personal to you.

Mine is K777LEO - I didn't buy it myself, was a 21st present. They wanted to get me L777LEO but it wasn't available. K means nothing to me but I quite like it now :) The numbers... 7+7+7=21 and Leo is.. my name

I had to admit that I never liked the idea of a perso plate and it took me quite a long time to get it put on the car. But I've had it 5yrs now and have no doubts that I will keep it forever. I probably wouldn't feel the same if I had one which was related to the car. Only thing is that it restricts you to cars only younger than whatever the reg letter is - e.g. I couldn't have the plate on a J or older car. Altho really this doesn't bother me too much as I'm not after a car that old.
91 Citroen BX GTi 8v - bought March 13
95 Ford Mondeo 1.8i Ghia - March 11 - March 13 - scrapped
98 620 SLDi - July 08 - March 11
97 420 GSDi - dumped in France
94 420 GSi Turbo, 235bhp. Dec 03 - May 08, still missed
93 214 Si - June 02 - Feb 04

far cheaper to change your name by deed poll to the same as the reg you have now

that way you will have the perfect plate

Just keep your standard plates and get 'KYLE ASH' or whatever put at the bottom. :)

I've had two cars with 999 in the plate. Its a curse/jinx.

Both of them have been complete nightmares to own. Mechanical problems, one after another.

Not to mention the amount of times cops pull you over 'for a routine stop sir, your plate caught our eye'.

Private plates are pointless too. imo.
