Decent garage in Black Country/Birmingham

Post by empsburna »

Got a couple of issues with my Tubby, and I need to get them sorted before its sold, so I need a decent garage/mechanic to sort them out.

I haven't got the time, tools or patience to even consider it, and I need the car gone and out the way to raise some capital for a better options pack on my new car.

Anyone recommend somewhere decent to take it? I've got issues with it starting (on three cylinders most of the time - possible sticky valve?) An issue with idle (could be easy stuff which I may have a crack at myself, like o2 sensor, CTS, sticky throttle body) but I would prefer to put it in someone elses capable hands and send me a bill at the end of it.

You could try Martin Hadland (Reyland) from here; Not sure if this is what he does though...

Cheers, I have had a look at the site, but services aren't updated at the moment.

I was hoping for a decent back street garage that knows their way around them - heck, Brum was filled with cars from Longbridge - someone must know how to fix them

I take mine to Crossroads in Cheswick Green not far from Solihull. Always had a very good honest service from them and never had any bullsh!t. They knew their way around my car surprisingly well. Quite well priced aswell.

Hi,

I've taken mine to Summit Garage in the past, not the cheapest mind as they're an ex-Rover franchise. But a lot of the mechanics are old school, and Nick on the service desk seems genuine enough - has told me straight when something doesnt need doing or the option of saving some cash. Like I say though, I don't think they're cheapest.

Hth,

Mike.

Thanks for the offers of help and tip off to decent garages, but the car has gone back into safe hands again for it to all be sorted :)
