Picked them up tonight, had to put a snap up.

Saw the car in question 17k on the clock, had been rear ended

Other than a clean, brakes look like new (all dust seals and caps intact) and still have a fair chunk on the pads

I don't know how you can't find these? I just picked up another pair for £130 from 1st Stop Breakers in Peterborough. I paid £200 for my first pair in mint condition (and was very happy paying that).

Intapart (Daventry) usually have a few 406 Coupes on the racks and they post. Tried the online forms where you fill in the bit you're looking for and all the breakers/scrappies quote you for the bits...?

As for the kit being permanently available; haven't really given it any thought TBH. The GB is serving it's purpose of providing the guys that were interested with all the one-off bits needed to build the kit cheaply. We'll see how the GB runs before we cast a decision.

When I had my 306 GTI-6 people upgrade to 406 calipers as they will fit behind the standard 15" wheels using a fat spacer.

I originally bought some Alfa calipers, and found out they were wrong. Sold mine for a small profit.

Then I got mine from intapart (mentioned above). Had to haggle the cack out of the guy, started off on £225. Got mine for £150 which I was happy with as the sale of my Alfa calipers offset the cost slightly.

Was some in a local scrapyard, they wanted £170.

Tis one of the only benefits of living in the middle of know were. Not of a lot of people no or use my local breakers.
And when i enquired i just asked for the calipers off the v6 coupe, i dint state they were 4pots or brembos and he dint know till i had already payed :>

Refurbs i think, but advertised as new.

Hmm, not long ago he wanted £200 for a set of those calipers, then he raised the price to £350, and now it's back to £305.

Misdescribed as well, they are not new.

I have a feeling we are pushing up the prices ourselves due to the laws of supply and demand. We have increased the demand but unless a few more 406's get wrecked than usual the supply is the same. I used intapart and paid over £200 including Discs and delivery. I said I wasn't interested in Discs but the guy said it made no difference to the price anyway When they arrived though I was quite pleases as they look in good condition with only a bit of laquer flake and the pads looked nearly new. My suggestion is to get in on the group buy and worry about callipers later when the fuss has died down. It spreads out the payments too The thing is Callipers will be available long after the group buy is done and dusted.

I gave up on ebay, and online breakers, mainly because prices were all £200+.

Sourced mine from a local breaker in the end for £120, Bayliss in Ogmore.
