rover 800 bumper supports

Post by thamestyres »

this is just to gauge whether or not to get a lot of these made or just the two i need. the bumper supports have been obsolete according to my local rover agent for some years and i have even been having problems getting second hand ones lately. so i have been looking at getting some made up which is a fairly straight forward process, however if there is enough of us that need them, they might be cheaper, so if you are interested please let me know as soon as possible as i am having it costed at the moment, please bear in mind that these supports are the same on all 4 corners so each car has 4. i need 2 but will probably get 4. these will be made up in steel not like the oe steel paper and plastic. regards ricky
p.s. sorry if this is not in the right section.

never thought of rimmers, rover didn't have years ago when i tried to get some. rimmers have got about 12 of them so should do mine and my cousins car :) thanks. am waitong for the engineers to come back to me just in case as there is no rush to spend money. the metal is about £50 for 7.5 metres. but that will make quite a few. the main bonus is that a solid metal one would last probably the life of the car. regards ricky

i have had these costed now and can supply them at approx £8 each they will be in steel which will be laser cut i would need to make a min of 20, that would be potentially 5 cars worth. the ones from rimmers are o.e. and are plastic with paper steel reinforcment, at a cost just over £10. which obviously rust badly. a 2.5mm steel bar painted will probably last the life of the car so you never have to do them again,
to start the ball rolling i will order 6 of them 4 for my car 2 for my cousins as i know he needs at least 2 on the front of his vitty. does anyone else want some. regards ricky

Figured that might well be the case, I couldn't remember. In my defense, it's been a year and a half since I last looked at any.

I'll probably have a full set, fella, to add to my little stockpile of bits.
