To find a host I'd look on webhostingtalk.com, make sure you do your homework before settling on a host. There's far too many cheap and nasty ones out there now, people offering stupid amounts of disk space and bandwidth for prices they can't even get it for are all over and should be avoided like the plague.

The prices that http://www.unitedhosting.co.uk/hosting.php ask are more like what I'd be wanting to pay since their prices mean they can actually pay for the hardware and bandwidth (and staff) without massively over selling and you're more likely to get some real support should you need it.

it would be worth thinking about what you want the site to do ultimately, so you dont haver the trouble and expense of changing hosts later...

What is it you want from tne site, just static pages? A forum? An online shop? Easy to update website from the backend (content management system etc).

Drop us a pm if you want some advice...

id got for scotts hosting if you need something decent, but www.doteasy.com do a good deal with 0$ hosting.

iirc you have to buy the domain from them and then get the hosting free, it is quite limited but i run my site with them and have never hit my limits.

they also do gift upgrades, where if you recomend a friend you both get more hosting space... i can quite honestly say ive never had a problem with them.

i have an upgrade from 100mb space to 200mb and 1 gig of traffic.
