Hahaahah.

Thats totally insane. Lotus Carlton it is! If the 260 was face slappingly fast as standard, it might be different!

i was having a look on autotrader for the zt v8's, and saw one for sale for £5500, 2004 model with 50,000 on the clock, hpi clear! I think thats stunning value for money. If it was closer, id have a look

Also spotted a supercharged one nearby to me too- a factory supercharged one! Aparently they made a couple of factory supercharged models, designated the ZT V8 385 SE - this was going to be the range topping model, but they never got to put it in full production before they went bust. the 385 is the horse power 8) They should of made them all like that!

I have no idea if the above is 100% true, but that car is for sale at an SMC dealer

The ZT is an estate version, from the photos, most definatly has a supercharger, and is up for £13,995, with only 15,000 imles on the clock:

http://www.vcars.co.uk/used-cars/cardet ... ce&u=11108

damn, i want it. If it was closer to 10k, i might consider a loan! The power, the stealth, the sheer uniqueness....

yeah the 385 was going to be a range topping model, nice find.
that kind of money get you a monaro though, maybe not as powerful but you can get parts at reasonable prices.

I've got an Auto Express with the ZT385 on the cover. It's got the flared arches and a couple of bonnet vents too. 8)

There was only one ZT385 that came off the production line. There was also a development car that was probably slightly higher power.

If there is only one i would say 13G is cheap for one-off factory model if only for the uniqueness

...but with enormous tuning potential.

These engines are under-developed, and can be turned into some *seriously* potent power figures, with proper tuning and reasonable cash injection.

I might make an offer on one today. Wouldnt pay more than £6K ish though.

Add £6K for a supercharger, and you have circa 500Bhp, which is M5 territory!

Not bad at all, and its probably still not that stressed running at that.

Haha, yeah, swapping heads , loom, managements is a little bit more than 'strap a charger to it' .

The Dreadnought race ZT is at 520bhp. They have done some serious work to it. The ones that they normally supercharge for road use are at 400bhp, using a Kenne Bell supercharger.

I was doing a search for SDB000980 as who knows maybe one day we will find an equivalent!

Anyway rear pads are £15 - £20 and are the same as the ones fitted to the front of an Elise
Rear callipers are AP not Brembo
Rear disk are available from the 260 forum at £300 a pair plus oem disks can be skimmed and are good for 90-100k!
Front is identical 190 parts

My car has 400 BHP via KB blower and goes bloody well!

well worth owning but not for an everyday driver - 20 - 25MPG makes that a bit too expensive.

If you can get 20 to 25mpg out of it ... That's no worse than a slightly fiddled with ti in stop start driving.

I know, I fuelled my TI for 3 years so a 260 should be no different.

My 820 does around 25 mpg on short runs, ie 10 miles to work etc. On a decent run it will manage around 30 (if I keep my right foot under control).
