Women!!

Post by marksmith »

Argh. What is it with women? Well, not all of them I imagine, but at least one. Once a month, regular as clockwork, things which have previously not even been mentioned become massive insurmountable problems. "Someone I know" was up from 2am to 4am last night dealing with a huge tantrum by "his" 33 year old girlfriend regarding - no really, this not one word of a lie - the temperature of the room. Two hours. "He" had been told about it before, and yet it's still too hot. She does know where the thermostat is, by the way, and how to use it, and "he" doesn't mind it being warmer. Or colder, for that matter - frankly couldn't care less what temperature it is.

Now she's trying to start another argument with "So am I not allowed to say what I don't like, then?". Yes, you are, just not by means of a temper tantrum over nothing at 2 in the &^$^£& morning. Say it's too hot. Say you're not happy with the amount of washing up. Those things are fine and easily fixed. It doesn't have to be a fight.

Two hours. Middle of the night. Two flippin' hours.

Obviously it's not about the temperature, or the washing up. It's just a means to start a fight because she's, well, looking for a fight basically. Stupidly "he" was off "his" guard and accidentally gave her one rather than ignoring it as "he" usually does.

Obviously I'm not referring to myself, no no. No, someone I, erm, met in the pub.

Argh.

Good thing about not living with the girlfriend even after two years.Ive got my own flat with a flat mate but she still lives at home with parents. But one week in each month, I dont see her for a few days. Gives us both time away from each other :)

Get her on the pill?

Or tell her to stop being rediculous and take some control over her emotions. If a bloke hasn't had any for a while it doesn't mean he can go around punching people for no reason and get away with it by blaming it on the testosterone!

Or tell her to bother off and go and sleep on the sofa.

Or become gay

It's not actually because she hasn't had any :-)
Or tell her to stop being rediculous and take some control over her emotions.
See you're thinking logically there. You've taken the facts and reached a sensible conclusion. And that is why your answer is so ridiculous. It's not her emotions! It's the temperature. And the washing up. And the fact that her boyfriend twists everything she says and is just totally unbearable.

Now in a week's time, her boyfriend will be lovely, and the state of his house will be "cute" and "all part of who you are and why I love you". But that's next week. If you tell her to get a grip on her emotions THIS week, you're denying all the undeniable facts that IT IS TOO HOT DAMN IT and that everything she says gets twisted.

She can't SEE that it's her emotions. All these things are completely real to her. And she can't remember that five days ago they weren't.

It sounds to me like you're completely in the wrong and she's completely in the right and you're being completely unreasonable (just incase you forget to log off one night and she finds out where I live...)

I know, the bloke example was the only thing I could think of :)

How about secretly videoing her and then play it back to her when she's normal again? The camera doesn't lie!

Seriously though, if she was on the pill she wouldn't get this unless she stopped taking it (which you're supposed to do for a few days every 3 months IIRC). Plus there's the other bloody obvious advantage too.

You haven't actually said "no" to the gay thing ;)

She tried the pill but it messed her up completely. She's tiny - only weighs 6 stone (really) and I think they give you the same tablets they give to, erm, the larger lady, and it was total overdose for her. This was before I met her, thankfully, as I gather it was rather an "emotional" time.
Punx0r wrote:You haven't actually said "no" to the gay thing ;)
Sounds like an offer to me!

I do think it'd be easier sometimes. I would miss boobs though, must be honest.

She's calmed down now and apologised (without me saying anything) - so I think she may have realised she was a smidge out of order on this occasion. She's also contacted a counsellor, which I think is a good idea. It's either that or I inject her with rohypnol just to get some kip...

I'm no doctor and I'm sure there's plenty of info on the web, but I do know the pill comes in a range of strengths to suit different people. I guess it's not for everyone though.

Boobs are awesome, but when you asked "what do you want to do this evening?" You'd get a reply along the lines of computer games/beer/watching Ramb. Rather than a trick like "oh, I don't know, you think of something".

Arguments either wouldn't occur, or would probably be solved by a good old punch-up.

Fair play to her for seeking outside advice, I wouldn't have assumed it necessary, but if it helps then I guess it's all good :)

Wow a pill overdose...seeing as they do cause most women's breasts to become a little larger, that must have been fantastic!

Not if you get punched in the face by a hormonal fist every time you look at them - then it's just entrapment. Sadly/gladly this was a few years ago anyway, before we met.

I worked as a waiter for a good few years and after having gravity work so hard on my eyes on so many cleavages blatantly on show I have developed skills of looking two places at once :D

besides I never understood the problem...I mean if a woman constantly stared at your crotch with an excited smile would you be offended?

Hang on... moody for one week a month? So it's not normal for them to be moody for 3 weeks and ok for one week?

Strangely the other week 'somebody I know' had his girlfriend come and have a go at him after she'd ripped up one of his receipts which he needed to claim back from work as apparently leaving the receipt on the top to be sorted was untidy and it was totally his fault rather than her hers for not checking what it was before tearing it up.
However 'he' stood there calmly and explained that it was not his fault, it was actually hers and she was only trying to blame him as some kind of defensive/attack tactic combined with moodyness as she knew it was his fault and would rather have a go at him than admit she was wrong. She looked slightly surprised but totally sussed and admitted that was the case and they both went on with no argument.

Once that's worked. Once.

So... she sidetracked you.

You should have been angry about the receipt and she should have said sorry for ripping it up.

But instead you were steered towards her misplaced anger as the focal point of the discussion.

She then admitted it was misplaced, at which point the discussion ended.

She didn't say sorry for ripping up the receipt.

You were played you like a violin.

Thing is that as much as any man tries to understand women he never fully will, even men who think they are women.
So we can only amuse ourselves with the differences, don't forget it's certain differences that is the cruelty in life by which men find themselves with a woman :D

Fair enough if you'd written 'she ripped up the receipt so I beat her with a rolling pin' you'd want to claim it wasn't you but these are two trivial arguments where you were right.(as is always the case in any argument with a man and a woman, the man is always right, whether she believes it or not)

Why the shame?
