Mountain Biking in Midlands

Post by Grant620 »

Hiya!
Looking for some hints as to where to go mountain biking in the Midlands.
IDeally within 20 miles of Redditch.
Been to the Malverns a few times and it's ok, but a bit sameish and also a good hour away which is too far for a 90 min training ride!
Any hints or tip offs as to good places?
Looking for all sorts of terrain... deffo not FLAT though! Must be hills!

I could be up for that, I've only got my old hardtail so I might struggle a bit!

That would be a laugh!
I'm a bit rusty as I've not cycled for nearly 2 years. Before that though I was keen for about 20 years! Raced for about 15.

Will try Lickey then - that's ideal!

Im still very much a beginner , im more of a road biker than a mountain biker so youll still be the leader lol. If your up for it i am , eps should come too ,anybody else ? then we can arrange some dates and meet up one of the weekends, sounds like a good crack if you ask me. Give us all a break from the petrol fumes ! :D

Hopwas woods just outside Tamworth is great for off road biking. Probably about 45mins drive from you though.

Me and my mates used to always be over the chase, used to ride over there with a hard tail & rigid forks till i bent them
Some good down hill sections to be ridden there.
