good point,

as I did it online, with these comparison wonder sites, which btw I rate as highly as gypo's morals (no offence gypos),

they all said that my car, 618is 99 was valued at £1200 and that wasn't open for discussion, despite the fact that I paid £950, now I get the paying out the value bit, except for the fact that it's 3rd party, it just seems all wrong to me. To prove that, before I got the rover I was looking at a 2L mondeo 99 plate, price tag of £1100, insurance quote of £500, £200 less than my rover??

The difference for me between insuring at my home address and insuring at my old halls address in Birmingham was astronomical, my B42 address doubled my insurance quotes for my OX11 address.

How often do these lists get updated, and i'm sure they must use the second half of the postcode as well, as in the bigger citys that range would be way to large.

As I said above, postcode seems to have a lot of relevance to the price of insurance in my experience. Its obviously not entirely dependant on that single factor, but it plays a big part along with age etc. At the time, I had no NCB's, written off a car about a year earlier, was living in a poorly rated postcode and I was 19, so a total vard of a situation in terms of car insurance.

Insurance companies have been known to browse through car forums to find people who haven't disclosed details that would invalidate their insurance, the address a policy is based on should be where the car is 4 days a week in most cases.

I'm 25, clean license, 4 NCB but in a 'B' area and it costs me just £550 a year for the ti.

This information must be donkey's years old. From one street to another makes a difference you mind just a particular start postcode.

Insurance on my postcode (new estate): £221
Next street (much older): £260
Street further down road: £241
My nans street (about 1/2 mile away) £428!!
